1. Define a route through India.

It does not have to be the route you choose in reality. Just think about a possible way to go and where you are planning to leave the country.  With one exception: The entry point cannot be changed. If you say that you want to enter the country from Tamu to Moreh, you HAVE to cross there and nowhere else, regardless if you have a valid visum.

2. make a booking on booking.com for the first night in India (you can cancel after you got the visa). You need address and phone number of the Hotel for application.

3. In the application form is written that you need a flight out of India. I booked / rented a flight on bestonwards.com for 12$ each. But noone wanted to know about or see the booking when I gave my printed application to the desk. Maybe they will see something when crossing the border. I do not know. You should make your own decision if you would like to take the risk.

Now fill in. It is very easy.

• Choose „regular paper visa application“

• The captcha is case sensitive!

• Note your application id (right side at the top). If for any reason you have to do a break, you can proceed later with this id
• If you don’t have a religion choose „other“ and fill in NONE
• choose your educational qualification. If you have studied and finished successful choose „graduate“

• IMPORTANT: Learn from my experience! Duration and number of entries: choose like shown in the picture. Other like in other visa Applications of other countries the validity starts DIRECTLY after sending your application. If you choose 1 month and your application date is 19/07/19 you have to leave India until 18/08/19. I did that mistake and had to begin from scratch with a new application.
• The visa price does not change if you choose 6 month and multiple entries in comparision to one month and single entry

• Next you have to upload a digital copy of your biometric picture

• next you just get a summary. Check with 4 eyes principle
• once you have posted your application there is NO WAY to change it. You have to start again

• Verify and continue if you are sure that everything is right

Print and sign the application. Stick your biometrical foto on the first site.

At the Indian embassy

• Opening hours are from 09:30-11:00 a.m. (Mo-Fr)
• Take printed application, passport, passport copy, Myanmar visum copy, the exact amount of money
• Dress properly (cannot be bad ;-)) and be polite
• they check your application. If everything is okay you pay the money and get the receipt.
• It takes three full working days until you can pickup Passports with visa (means: if you applicate on wednesday you can pickup your visa on next monday.)

• Pickup time for the visa are only from 2:00 – 03:00 p.m. on the days they weite down on your receipt.
• Before they hand out passport and visa they take your fingerprints. FUNFACT: If you are older than 60 they don‘t take your fingerprints. I asked for the reason. Believe it or not – they say that they don‘t believe that terrorists are in that age!
